Secret Engagement

All for Erin...

I had made a post on Twitter saying that I had two cancelled shoots and I had limited dates available. I was pretty bummed by this and didn't think I would be able to fill it because I had only certain times of the day free and for a short amount of time. Thankfully, I had some friends share my post and one of my followers, Austin, saw it. He immediately direct messaged me saying he was proposing to his girlfriend, Erin! It was to be in a backyard under a decorated gazebo, oddly enough less than 20 minutes from me! Hoping he would pick me and to make sure our schedules would work, I cut him a price discount because I REALLY wanted to be able shoot this secret engagement. After much deliberation on the exact time of day and which path to walk to the gazebo, we made up our minds and created magic!

Austin had planned out the whole scenario. He was taking her to dinner while her friends came over to decorate the area. Older pictures from their relationship we hung up on clothespins, rose petals were laid out, and tea candles covered the ground as well as the gazebo. Both friends and family came to join in on the fun before their arrival, hiding in the garage - ready with beer and champagne!

Will you marry me?

Austin had been so sweet to me through his whole process of making sure everything went smoothly (and secretively). His text messages and direct messages were full of optimistic details. The questions that he had for me were open to my opinion to change if I thought it would be best. I love working with clients who listen to and incorporate my thoughts!

She said yes!

The friends and family members that were watching from the windows came out and shouted when they saw her with the ring! Then, everyone came to join from the garage to the backyard - hugging and crying. Even some of the neighbors knew and had let everyone use their driveways to hide their vehicles.

but first, some bubbly.

I'd say this was a pretty successful evening filled with laughter, tears, hugs, and kisses. I am so happy for Erin and Austin and that I was a part of their first step to forever.

Roses are red, violets are blue, I'll never love someone as much as I love you.
